Description of Issue

My Nucleus was working fine with my previous internet provider (RISE Broadband in Colorado). For a number of reasons I switched to Starlink. The Starlink router is in bypass mode. After I plugged the Orbi router into the starlink router, all other connected devices in the house worked fine and never missed a beat, except for my Nucleus. When I launch Roon OS, it can't find my Nucleus. It's as if I don't even have one. It isn't found anywhere on the network. I rebooted/cycled the router and the Nucleus multiple times. The power light on the nucleus is on, and there is network activity (green light blinking). I tried using the RoonOS WebUI, but since the nucleus is not found, it won't launch. I reinstalled Roon OS on my desktop, to no avail. I am stumped. To be clear, I am not talking about ARC not working with Starlink, it is if my Nucleus literally disappeared. (I don't understand a lot of the 'under the hood' technical stuff, but as mentioned, Roon and my nucleus were working great before I switched to Starlink. I honestly can't think of what the connection between the two could be for this type of 'disappearing' act. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Mark_Opp,

We are not seeing any Roon Servers registered to your account. Is the Nucleus on the same subnet as your other Roon Remotes, meaning the IP range matches except for the last three digits? Where is the Nucleus plugged in, have you tried to plug it into the main router (and not a satellite)?

Hi Noris,

Yes, the Nucleus is plugged directly into the RBR50, but it was off for a while. I’ll leave it on now. I think it might be a IP range issue that I don’t know how to correct because the Nucleus won’t boot. The IP address for the RBR50 is 10.0.0.1 and as I recall, the IP address for the Nucleus was 192.168.0.10 (I believe).

Oh, and thanks for your prompt reply.

That is definitely a different subnet address. Did you give the Nucleus a static IP address? If so, you need to reset it so that it can get a new address from the Starlink router. See:

Hi Geoff,

I don’t recall setting a static IP address on the Nucleus, and I may not be recalling it’s IP address correctly. I will grab an old USB keyboard from work and try resetting as directed. I’ll let you know.

SUCCESS!!! Resetting the network propertied did the trick. Now I’ll start working on ARC with starlink. Thank you!
