Describe the issue

I am a Roon user in Mac OS as a server. I just bought Nucleus One and installed it and told Roon to act as the Roon Server. Everything goes well including Roon ARC but cannot function with Roon APP !? It does not recognise the nucleus One and only wants me to go the previous Mac Roon Server ?!?!

Describe your network setup

I have IPhone 15, IPAD Pro 6th generation, iMac Pro 3,2 Ghz 8 core Intel Xeon W, tp link home mesh, TP-link 8 port GigabitDesktop Switch

Hi @David_Ferreira1,

Thank you for your post.

First, off ensure that you’ve followed the steps in the migration guide here. You’ll eventually need to remove the RoonServer folder from your old MacOS instance, unless you plan to switch the server between two machines.

Your Nucleus One appears to be connected to a separate subnet than your MacOS machines - the IP address in the web administration page above doesn’t match the network interface that was last in use by the MacOS machine to reach our servers.

I recommend taking the following steps:

  1. In your MacOS WiFi Settings, click “Details” and verify that a Fixed, not a Roaming, IP address is assigned.

  2. If you intend to have separate subnetworks in this setup, make sure that all your Roon devices share a single subnet. Otherwise, make sure that your router doesn’t separate WiFi and ethernet into separate subnets.

  3. If you use a VPN on your MacOS devices other than Tailscale, try disconnecting. VPNs can. interfere with the connectivity protocol between RoonServer and Roon controllers.

Thank You for your help. I will try and come back to you next week

Regards David
