Good news @jamie
Still waiting for my review sample of the Nucleus Titan here in the UK
Haha, if I couldā¦
Speaking ofā¦ I just received my Titan review model late last week, so I can whip up a user experience blog like the one I did for Nucleus One.
Itās been huge fun having it here. Titan marketing photography doesnāt even come close to conveying its build quality or appearance. Itās genuinely a stunning machine, and the performance improvements are immediately obvious. Iāve pushed it pretty hard since Iāve had it, and itās never even gotten warm to the touch. Iām really pleased with it.
Customer feedback has been pretty effusive, and now that Iāve used it for a few days, I can truly appreciate and also experience their excitement. I hope to have more Titan insights to share with you guys next week.
Original nucleus owner here since 2019. Love Roon! My library is 1424 albums, 20289 tracks on an internal 2Tb SSD. Simple question - is it worth it to upgrade to the Titan for any improved SQ? I use a HiFI Rose 150B as an endpoint to a HiFi Rose RA280 amp, and feed multi-ch SACD flac to an Anthem receiver.
Hey @Eldon_Doucet, thank you for your question. You asked, āis it worth it to upgrade to the Titan for any improved SQ?ā
No, if thatās your sole desire, you likely wouldnāt hear a difference. Thatās intentional. Titan isnāt intended to color or alter your audio signal in any way. Its sole purpose is to provide an absolute tonal tabula rasa that you can build upon with your gear. Itās also the ultimate turn-key platform for Roon and looks radiant/makes all your friends jealous while doing it .
That being said, Titan easily facilitates Roon softwareās ability to perform any and all of the digital audio signal processing functions offered in our MUSE Precision Audio Control suite. Signal processing, done appropriately and tastefully, can deliver significant sonic benefits. But Titan, on its own, isnāt intended to impact sound quality.
Any news on when the Titan will be available in Europe Jamie?
Iām still using the original Nucleus and have always loved the ease of use.
I just upgraded my whole set here and a new Nucleus would be a lovely addition.
Hey @StringsForever, I donāt have a specific date; but weāre steadfastly working on European/UK/ASIA/AUS availability and hope to have more news on that soon. If your experience were to be anything like mine thus far, I think Titan would make a lovely addition to your setup.
Saw the post, thought cool maybe Iāll move to the Titan for my large library. I donāt know if the pricing is crazy high for the fancy case but, no thanks!
Hi Jamie,
I bought a lifetime subscription to Roon 8 years (or more?) ago and it has always been a joy to use. All streamers I had included their own platform but nothing comes even remotely close to Roon. I wouldnāt miss it for the world.
(Arc doesnāt work for me though since I use a VPN but Iād only use that occasionally in my car so it doesnāt matter that much as I can use Qobuz there).
As for the Nucleus, I bought the first version and still use it today, havenāt had so much as a single hiccup.
Add to that the ease of use (no OS to maintain separately) and updating and you can say it has been a perfect experience for me.
Never felt the need to upgrade to the second version but with the new Titan and the age my Nucleus has I think itās a good time to upgrade.
Hope we can get it soon here in Europe, I know a few more people that are waiting for it.
All the best to you guys!
A satisfied customer , Basil would love you
Hi Jamie,
- The Titan has brought up a question. Will Roon Labs still offer in the future updates for the older server models (Hardware and Application)?
- For three years I have been using a Nucleus Plus (V.B) without any technical problems. Your offer of a trade is generous and wise to go forward in the eventuality of a breakdown of my Nucleus Plus. I am caught in a financial quandary in my self-interrogation of pay me now or a lot more down the roadā¦
Thank you for your time.
There have never been any hardware updates for existing devices.
Software updates will of course still be delivered. They wonāt expect tens of thousands of current Nucleus owners as well as similar numbers of ROCK users to all buy new hardware.
How about the UK? Any chance this side of year end?
Hey @Gerald_Forey, weāre working on it. Stay tuned here and on our social channels. Thanks!
I choose op in the upgrade program. .The program is somewhat different from the USA.
- All shipping charges are your responsability (110$ CAD).
- The import fee, clearance fee and taxes (Fed + Prov.: 16%) totaled: 556,97$ CAD
I had problems with the custom papers. Canadian Customs though that I was a corporation asking to fill 9 pages of forms and to send corporate documents and custom numbers but I was able to solve the problem by declaring that I was an individual with no commercial motives. It took a few hours to solve the problem and I was able to pay in the tracking results.
Itās been a week. of surprises, delays and a anxiety. The Roon Labs sales departement where really helpful and very fast to respond and corrected the situation. In my view, the program is very good but needs a bit of work.
I will be able to pickup the Titan in four days. Did I save? I saved 2108$ CAD with the program compared to a new Titan without the upgrade program; not bad!
Could you give an educated estimate or approximation on the trade in value of my NUCLEUS PLUS REV B before I go through the time and trouble of fill out form and return the NUC+ please?
Hi Jim,
If your Nucleus + is in top shape the credit is 1500$ US.
First, Canadians have to fill-in the form. You will receive an eMail explaining the steps to follow.
I had to send mine for an evaluation at my expense. Roon Labs USA then send me an invoice. They will ship the Titan after payment.
