Nucleus One: Restore Backup not working

In essence I have migrated the Roon Core from Innuos Zen Mini to Roon Nucleus One. Now keeps failing / being stuck at the message “Preparing” when I try to restore my last Roon backup. Have superfast broadband; Nucleus One connected directly to fast fibre router Ethernet port; Roon Remote controls on Windows 11 ASUS ZenBook 14 laptop.

Have tried repeatedly over several days to restore my last backup (was made from Innuos Zen Mini: same build as Nucleus One 2.60 / 1629). When I plug a USB containing the backup copy directly into the Nucleus One, I can see the USB and the stored backups on it via the Roon Nucleus One interface, but when I try to activate a Restore Backup it says “no backups found”.

Have checked the USB’s formatting: it’s ex-FAT so should be compatible with Linux of Roon Nucleus apparently.

Tried repeatedly the other method available to me: to restore a backup from where it’s also stored in a folder on my laptop. That does allow me to initiate a restore backup, but even when left for many many hours (several attempts made, the longest 8/9 hours), all I see is a window saying “Preparing”:

The backup it’s trying to restore was created via the Innuous Zen Mini and then copied automatically to a folder on my Windows 11 laptop; then uploaded from there to the USB stick. The total size of the backup I’m trying to restore is around 1.6 GB on the USB stick: = around 49000 tracks / 5100 albums.

Have tried reading many articles / advice chats on what might be causing the restore backup not to work. I’ve adjusted all sorts of settings and sharing permissions, but nothing works. It’s really annoying, as I have many Roon playlists which I’m trying to re-import into the new Nucleus One. Should it really be taking so long? It’s just sat there for hour after hour saying “Preparing”. Also seems very odd that Nucleus One can see the USB and list all the backups, but then seems unable to connect to any of them to upload them.

Any advice very welcome. I’m really beginning to despair of ever being able to restore a backup. And it makes me concerned about setting up scheduled backups from Nucleus One going forwards.

I’ll attach here finally a screenshot of the log history of my many attempts to get the laptop-stored backup to restore:
