Nucleus One Unresponsive After Restart: Unable to Access via Browser or Clients (ref#5V4TKK)

I'm having trouble with my Nucleus hardware

· Nucleus turns on, but I can't connect to it

Is the Nucleus showing up after pressing the Configure RoonOS button?

· No

Please try to reboot your Nucleus

· false

Please try rebooting your network equipment

· false

The Nucleus HDMI output can provide very useful diagnostic information. This process will involve connecting the Nucleus via HDMI to a TV or monitor and then checking to see what is being displayed.

· Yes, I am willing to try the HDMI test

On the Nucleus HDMI output, what do you see?

· "Roon OS Web UI can be directly accessed at [https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/](https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/)" and the address is NOT http://169.254.XX.YY/

In the Roon app, please try to click on the "Select a different Roon Server" button. Are you able to reconnect to Nucleus from the list?

· I pressed "Select a different Roon Server" button, but I still don't see the Nucleus

Please check to ensure that your Roon remote is on the same network as the Nucleus and not connected to a VPN.

· I checked these options, but I am still not able to connect

One of the most common causes of this issue can be a Firewall blocking the connection for the Roon Remote.

· I have adjusted/verified the Firewall settings but I am still not able to connect

Select your Nucleus model from the list below

· Nucleus One

Describe your network setup

I use a Unifi UDM Pro router, a Unifi 24 port POE switch, and several Unifi Flex-Mini 5 port switches. My Roon servers and end-points are all hard-wired. Our two iPhones are, of course, on Wi-fi. All devices are on the same subnet. I do not use a VPN.

Describe the issue

When I received my Nucleus One I performed a migration from my existing NUC10i7FNH without a hitch. I used the Nucleus every day for several weeks and it worked flawlessly. A few days ago it appeared to hang and was non-responsive to several different clients. I was able to access it via the browser interface and performed a restart. Since that restart I have been unable to access it via the browser interface or any client. Ethernet status lights are solid orange and flashing yellow. I attempted to ping the IP address shown on the Nucleus screen but it fails to respond. Interestingly, the Nucleus does appear on my Unifi device management console with the same IP address but it is not sending or receiving any data. I re-built my old ROCK machine and am able to use it just fine as before I started using the Nucleus.

Hello @Michael_Moore2 ,

Thanks for reaching out, and sorry to hear about the difficulties. As the first step, I would try to press power button on the Nucleus once so it turns off, unplug + leave it unplugged a minute, plug back in and see if there is any change, this should perform full discharge cycle.

If that does not help, do you have a USB keyboard? Can you try the following network reset procedure, if so?

Also, if you have a USB → Ethernet adapter you can try to plug that in and switch the cable over, I’d be curious to know if it helps.

I am pleased to report that the unplug then resetnetwork command has brought my Nucleus back to life. After reading the forum topics I had tried both of those things before without success. Previously the network reset always came back with the same IP address whereas this time it came back with a different. I’m guessing that I did not leave the power supply diconnected long enough to fully discharge the caps. Thanks for your help!
