I’m looking for guidance on a Roon Nucleus Plus (rev A) purchased in 2019 that has developed a boot failure. Unfortunately, the unit is out of warranty, so I’m trying to understand my options before proceeding further.
Problem
On power-up, the system fails to boot and displays the following message on a connected monitor:
“A bootable device has not been detected.”
The system does not proceed past this screen.
Hardware / Symptoms
Model: Roon Nucleus Plus (Rev A)
Connected a monitor via HDMI
The error appears immediately during boot but after seeing Roon OS screen
What I’ve already checked:
Power cycling the unit
Reseating external cables
Ethernet LEDs do light when connected, but the system never reaches the OS
I’m looking for the most up-to-date instructions/recommendations on how to go about replacing SSD. Would also consider upgrading the unit if there are any deals at the moment for trade-ins as I don’t love having to get out my tiny screwdrivers; but don’t mind if the process is straightforward.
After completing the recovery process using the guide provided by @Geoff_Coupe, please open a new request with our RMA team so they can remotely reinstall the Nucleus operating system.
To do this, please start a new support request via the Get Help button, select Nucleus hardware issue, choose your Nucleus model, and then select:
“I’ve recently replaced my Nucleus SSD, and I need the operating system reinstalled.”
Unfortunately, this device is already Out of warranty as you have mentioned so the most budget friendly variant for you would be to replace the SSD yourself as per @Geoff_Coupe ‘s notice .
