· The Nucleus boots up and I can connect to it in the Roon app without issue, but I have a question about configuration/storage/attached devices
Describe the issue
Have had a Nucleus plus since late 2019 with almost zero issues. Shortly after latest OS update, I’m missing all my CODECS? How did that happen? I’ve touched nothing. They just suddenly disappeared?
Music was playing normally from library, suddenly stopped and when I check on the Nucleus status via web access it says I’m missing all CODECS? Tried rebooting…no change. Turned off, left off all night, turned back on this morning, music playing but still missing CODECS? Why?
Should I try to reinstall them using the “instructions” on the “MISSING CODECS” page?
We were able to check the diagnostics report from your Nucleus and noticed that during boot, the Nucleus faced a logical issue and likely reset.
This does not mean something is broken. It is most likely the result of an unsafe shutdown. We can also see that the machine was shut down improperly multiple times.
In your case, there is not much to worry about.
You can check this article and reinstall the codecs yourself. It should not take much time: Roon OS Missing Codecs
Please let us know if you have any questions about this.
BTW, I only reboot or shut down the nucleus via the Roon app to the webpage for the nucleus and use the reboot or shutdown buttons on the screen. And the unit is on a battery backup unit so doesn’t lose power due to power outages. So I don’t know why you’d be seeing improper shutdown issues.
