For Roon connectivity to work properly, both Roon Server and Roon Remote need to be turned on.
· I can't turn on Roon Server, I need help.
Describe the issue
I can no longer connect to my Nucleus Plus. Roon app cannot find my Roon Server. Server is plugged in, turned on and connected to Ethernet. It stopped working overnight. I would greatly appreciate any help.
Describe your network setup
My network setup has not changed. Nucleus Plus is connected by Ethernet to Cisco Gigabit multiport switch. Router is ROG AXE-16000. Cable Modem is Netgear CM 2050V. ISP is Xfinity, 2 Gb.
Have you tried connecting a monitor or TV to your Nucleus Plus HDMI port? If so what do you see when the Nucleus Plus is turned on?
You should see a small amount of text with the Nucleus ip address included. If you don’t see this, or the ip address is not what you expect, take a photo graph and post it in a reply.
Thanks for writing in! Sorry to hear about your Nucleus!
Based on your account information, it looks like your Nucleus hasn’t communicated with our servers for around 15 days. Have you been able to review @Wade_Oram’s comment above?
It would also be helpful to see if you’re able to access the webUI of your Nucleus -
Thanks Wade. I will be trying the monitor idea and see what happens.
After moving my new house did not have provisions to run a Cat6 so I connected it via Cat to my ISP for about a year so it could update. I now have a mesh setup that has a good signal.
I use an iPad as a controller but have not been able to get into web setup.
Will report back after connecting to HDMI
Thanks!
Hi, Wade.
Thanks for the reply. Sorry this is late but I was out of town. I tried your suggestion this evening. There is no video output from the HDMI port. The HDM cable connected to my AV processor. When the Nucleus Plus was functional, I would seed the lines of text you referred to. No longer. The power cable, Ethernet connector, and HDMI cable are plugged into the unit. Have tried resetting by disconnecting power cable but no joy. The power switch in back of the unit is on (confirmed by the little white LED light on top).
I tried uninstalling my old Roon PC software. Downloaded current version from website and reinstalled. It does not detect the Nucleus Plus.
Can the unit be sent in for repair? Is it bricked?
Thanks for the update! If you’re not seeing anything on the screen when connected via HDMI, you may be experiencing hardware-related issues with the Nucleus.
The best next step here is to get in touch with our RMA department directly, as they’re in charge of all hardware-related Nucleus issues. To do so, open the Typeform link below and select ‘Other’ followed by 'This issue is related to a physical component".
I looked through the new and unread topics of this group and found a post from user “anagnosd” who describes the exact same issue I have. In retrospect, my Nucleus + stopped functioning after an update just like the other user.
Thanks for the update! It does sound like there could be something board or chip related that’s failing - I see your ticket in with the RMA team, so you’re all set for now!
I’ll go ahead and close this thread since they’ll be reaching out via email with next steps. If you run into any additional issues along the way feel free to create a new thread and tag me @ directly!
