Nucleus Plus power failure

I have a Nucleus Plus (Rev B) with the following problem.

Usually, I do a soft reboot of the server but today, as I was moving stuff, I turned off my Nucleus and have been unable to restart it with the power button: it lights up but pressing it makes no difference. The web page tells me it can’t connect to the server.

There are a number of possible explanations, including the power button no longer working or a CMOS failure. I search came up with the following discussion thread:

I’ve removed the base of the Nucleus and it’s clear that the unit is being powered – a green light on the circuit board is on. I’ve also tried pressing the button marked with an arrow on the photo in the above discussion. It will come on, and then go off. Again, no difference.

Anyway, I think I’m going to have to get the unit repaired, but a Nucleus is not your average piece of computer equipment. I’m based in England – does anyone have any suggestions as to my options?

Thanks in advance.

Plug a monitor via a HDMI cable an report back what’s on the boot screen.

Rgds, Stefan

Thanks. Tried that, and nothing.

Actually it’s just a very basic NUC.

True, so perhaps I’ll try a local computer repair shop. If it’s a power issue it might be straightforward.

Hi @Colin_Green1,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. If you saw nothing on your monitor after connecting the Nucleus then that is an indication that there has been a hardware failure with the Nucleus. Please got to this typeform to submit an RMA. Nucleus Troubleshooting
