Description of Issue

Brand new Nucleus (although sold to me by Roon as an open box item). Installed Roon app on W10 PC for configuration and then plugged in Nucleus (ethernet and power). Power button on Nucleus has always been dimly lit, no audible click when power button is pushed, no change in power button light intensity, so no hints that Nucleus is either powered on or off. After trying every conceivable option to power up the Nucleus, the Roon app is never able to find the Nucleus even when I identify my home IP address and then click on “scan” in the Roon app. What I need is Roon tech support to explain how a Nucleus power button should operate so that it is possible to determine whether the Nucleus is defective or not. I suspect that the power button component is inoperative.

Because I also have a Roon core running successfully on Windows10 PC, I do know that this is not a networking issue - as the Roon app can see the W10 PC and access Tidal.

The Nucleus is a PC, attach a keyboard and monitor and see what is displayed on the Nucleus. If it is working you should get text that ends with the Nucleus displaying the IP address it received.

I did attach a monitor to HDMI A on the Nucleus (along with its ethernet cable) and periodically (every several minutes) pushed the power button and got nothing on the monitor. I don’t think the Nucleus is able to power up.

Roon support, please contact me with information about how I can exchange my Nucleus. The Nucleus shipped to me has at a minimum, a defective power button, and regardless of everything I have tried, it never exhibits any signs of life. Therefore, I need your help to exchange it. @support

Just received an RMA from Roon, so it’s in their hands now. Thanks everyone for sharing your advice.
