Describe the issue

Hello the was a problem with my router. I have a fixed ip adress for nucleus but now the router dont know the ip any more. I cant go in interface with ip and i tried to connect a screen with hdmi to reset the ip but there is nothing on the screen. I tried several hdmi cables and both slots on the nucleus + butnothing

Describe your network setup

A1 wlan box direct connected to nucleus wia lan cable

Fellow user here,

If you connect a monitor and keyboard to the Nucleus, you should see some minimal text with the IP address the Nucleus currently has.

Either way, you might try resetting the network settings on the Nucleus. Steps to follow below:

  1. Connect the Nucleus to a monitor or TV via HDMI.
  2. Connect a USB keyboard to the Nucleus.
  3. Power on the Nucleus and let it boot.
  4. Press ENTER
  5. Type resetnetwork
  6. Press ENTER

Hi @Alexander_Engelbrech,

Thanks for writing in! @Rugby is spot on with the above note.

I’d also reboot all your devices as well and see if that helps. Thank you! :folded_hands:

Good Morning. I rebooted and turned on/off Router several times without result i also tried with the usb Keyboard (without seeing anything) the enter, resernetwork, enter

Is there a Trick to get Displayed anything? I habe online blackscreen on the monitor

Hello @Alexander_Engelbrech,

Thank you for the update.

Could you please confirm whether the Ethernet port where the LAN cable is connected is showing blinking green or orange LEDs?
This will help us verify link activity on the network interface.

Hello
Blinking green

Hello @Alexander_Engelbrech,

At this point, it looks like we’ve reached a dead end with remote troubleshooting.

It’s possible that the Nucleus was configured with a static IP address, but the router is not allowing ARP entries for static leases. Please check whether your router supports this configuration and whether it’s enabled.

If the Nucleus was assigned an incorrect subnet and is no longer visible on your network, you can temporarily change your LAN subnet to match the one currently set on the Nucleus.

For example:
If your router is currently using 192.168.1.0/24, but the Nucleus was manually configured with an IP like 192.168.0.50, the router will not be able to discover it. In this case, you can temporarily change your router’s LAN subnet to 192.168.0.0/24, connect to the Nucleus WebUI, and correct the network settings.

Once connected via the WebUI, you can either:

  • Change the Nucleus IP address to match your main LAN subnet (for example, 192.168.1.x), or
  • Re-enable DHCP so the router assigns a valid IP address automatically.

After doing this, you can safely revert your router back to its original LAN subnet, and the Nucleus should become reachable again.

If neither of the above is possible, it appears that the HDMI output may be malfunctioning and we are not able to reset the network manually. In that case, the next step would be to contact our RMA department directly, as they handle all hardware-related Nucleus issues. Please open the Typeform link below and select “Other”, followed by “This issue is related to a physical component.”

They’ll help get you sorted out moving forward. Thanks! :+1:

Hello, sorry I don‘t know what you mean. In the Router there is a List of all Connection things which I gave a static ip also for the nucleus. Now the static ip for the nucleus is displayed in the Router as not reachable. I know the fixed ip which I Wrote in the nucleus and the Same in the Router everything wirkend for several years. But now there is the Problem. What should I change? Delite the fixed ip in the Router?

Good day @Alexander_Engelbrech !

Is it possible for you to temporarily disable the static IP settings for the Nucleus and let DHCP service assign IP automatically to Nucleus ?

Can you please check whether it will work for you ?

Thanks!

Regards.

Ok now I understand what you mean. I Chanced lan from Network 10.0.0.0 to Network 192.168.0.0
My fixed ip should be 10.0.0.2
I changed the Network to 192.168.0.0
And then I tried to reach nucleus with 192.168.0.2
But this does Not work

No result, disable search / delite search / New static after clear (I First copied the Mac so I know it) no result

Hey @Alexander_Engelbrech,

Thanks for all the troubleshooting you’ve done so far - sorry to hear none of it has helped much.

If you’re still only seeing a blank screen when connected via HDMI - this is a likely sign of hardware failure. I’d follow the steps @vadim has mentioned above to get an RMA process started to send the unit in for diagnosis and repair.

Let me know if you have any additional questions here!

Good Morning. I tried for many many many times to reboot, to Write in networkreset and now nucleus lives again. What do you suggest to prepare now for the case he will die again?
Tanks Alex

Hey @Alexander_Engelbrech,

Thanks for letting us know! If possible, grabbing a set of Roon Server logs from the Nucleus would be most helpful - we’re having issues attempting to request logs from our end.

Can you please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader? Once logs have been uploaded, please let us know so that we can check the server for your files, thanks!

Thank you!
