Description of Issue

Although the System Status of my Nucleus shows that everything should be ok, the
Volume is no more available for backup and not visible for adding as Storage.
Strangely enough, music being stored on that Volume can be played.
The last successful backup was on 22nd of October. As I was on vacation, it just popped up today. As I had several issues in the past with backups I want to make sure that my database is securely stored. So please give me a hand to make the backup successful.

Thanks and best regards
Frank

Can you please post a screenshot of Roon’s :gear: > Backups > Scheduled backups > View screen so that we can see exactly where you are storing your backups? Thanks.

Thanks for the quick feedback. Please consider that all my music is being stored on that volume, which is not availabel for backup but for playback. Isn´t that strange. Here is the screenshot as requested.

You should never backup the database to an internal storage location on a Nucleus, not the OS drive nor the storage drive. You need to backup to an external USB attached storage device or a network location.

Backing up to the OS drive will loose the backups every update and backing up to the storage drive will have Roon scanning the backup files and possibly corrupting the database.

Hi Big Dan, thanks for the instruction :+1:Upon your reply, I checked my Nucleus again and found an USB-Stick attached to it, which acted as the Backup Volume. For whatever reason this stick had a problem. Repairing it on a Windows PC made it visible again for the Nucleus and ready for Backup or Restore. Thanks so much and have a great day.
