Nucleus with a Synology NAS and Audio Research DAC

I have WAV files stored on a Synology NAS and a Audio Research DAC-8. I also have an Apple iPad,

Do I need a Roon Nucleus attached to my home network and a USB connection from the Nucleus to my Audio Research DAC in order to run Roon software on my iPad.

I’m looking for a way to avoid using a Windows PC in my music system.

You will need a Roon Core machine, and the iPad will act as a remote. You can read more about Nucleus here. The Nucleus is a great option to use as your Roon Core. You can also use any Core machine that meets these requirements.

Why? A nucleus is a computer. Is it just Windows you don’t like?
