Hello,
I am trying to configure a Nucleus+ for a customer of mine. In his case what he would like to do (if possible) is have the Roon software monitor a folder on his computer and incorporate changes as necessary, however what he wants to do is have the Nucleus+ pull the new files automatically into his SSD drive in the Nucleus rather than having to read from the PC folder. Is this possible? If so, how do I set this up so it works properly for him.
Currently his only option is to drag his music files over to the Nucleus+. He rips on his PC and has reason to keep his files there for other uses in his home, so he was hoping for a way to make this work as described above.

Roon can monitor and play the files from a shared folder on the PC. However, it does not copy the files locally.
If the user wishes to have Roon play the files off the drive in the Nucleus and have it maintained automatically … I’d suggest using a 3td party file sync program running on the PC to maintain the Nucleus’ shared folder.
Here is what i do and i may not be exactly what you asking.
- i rip the cd to a staging older
- I copy the flac files to the shared SDD drive i have mapped on the pc which is the internal SSD on the NUC
It takes seconds to copy them
Thanks for reaching out, @Miguel_Velez!
There is no way built in to Roon or the Nucleus to have files automatically transfer from an external folder to the internal storage of the Nucleus. The external folder can be watched by Roon (when adding the networked folder via Settings > Storage) but that will not copy the files locally to internal storage of the Nucleus, it will just add them to the Roon database and make them available for play over the network.
We have some documentation on adding music to the internal drive of the Nucleus and some general information about adding watched folders that I definitely recommend checking out.
If you have any other questions about this please let me know!
