Oh No! Not Metadata Again

Sorry to say that Roon’s struggles with metadata, or lack thereof, continue on with no endpoint in sight.

Team Roon has clearly stated in the past that Roon can only provide metadata that is available from third party sources, such as Qobuz and Tidal, so if there is no metadata on Qobuz or Tidal then there will be no metadata provided in Roon. Okay that seems quite reasonable and something that I can live with even if I don’t like it.

Today while looking for some credits for a jazz recording (Naoya Ogura - Colors of a Journey) that I posted to “Now Playing Some Jazz [2026]” thread, I discovered that while neither Qobuz nor Roon provides any credits for this recording, there are full and very detailed credits provided on Tidal. So why hasn’t this metadata been added to Roon in the almost two months since the recording was released.? Please explain, thank you.

Um, no. Roon gets metadata from MusicBrainz and TiVo.

Regarding Tidal, they have stated that they don’t get credits from them:

(I don’t know about other, non-credit metadata from Tidal or what they get from Qobuz)

Thanks for clearing things up a bit. Much appreciated.

I know it doesn’t help solve the problem though :frowning:

Maybe when Harmon buys Tidal the problem will get fixed.
