Onboard audio device stuck on enabling in Roon (ref#LK4OOA)

What best describes your playback issue?

· My DAC, streamer, or speaker doesn't appear as a Zone in Roon

What type of Zone is affected by this problem?

· *Directly-connected Zones* are affected.

Is your device connected directly to the Roon Server via cable or over the network, or is it chained through another device (such as a streamer, Roon Bridge, or Roon Remote)?

· Connected directly to my RoonServer machine

Does the device show up at all in Roon Settings -> Audio?

· Yes, it shows up there, but it isn't Enabled

Does the "Enable" button unlock the Zone?

· I pressed Enable, but the Zone remains disabled

Does the device play audio from another source when using the same connection?

· The device has no problems with another audio source

Have you checked that Roon is whitelisted in any firewalls?

· I've checked the firewall and the issue remains

Since you are using a network connection to the device, please ensure that your RoonServer is on the same subnet as the device

· My devices are on a single subnet but is not visible to Roon

Do you have a complex network setup?

· Both the device and RoonServer are connecting to a *single router*

Try to disable any additional networking interfaces on your RoonServer machine.

· Disabling network interfaces had no change in behavior

Check to make sure RoonReady mode is selected on the device.

· I've checked this and the issue remains

If the device has multiple output options, do the other options work as expected?

· Only one output type is affected while the other output type works as expected

Is the device using the latest firmware as per the manufacturer?

· Firmware is up-to-date but the issue remains

Do you have an approximate timestamp of when the issue last occurred?

· after upgrading to windows 11

· lenovo laptop on windows 11

roon server on lan. laptop on wifi

yesterday i updated my laptop to a clean windows 11 install. Put a fresh roon on it and connect do my roonserver (on an other device) I wanted to activate the onboard realtek music card in roon audio settings. But this won’t work. It keeps saying enabling in red and get stuck. I can only chose disable but no way it will work.

anyone any idea how to solve this ?

edit. I tried all the four options but all keep stuck at enabling

Have you update the Realtek sound driver, from Lenovo’s website?

No used the latest win11 driver. But i will look at the lenovo site tomorrow. Thanks

well could not sleep so looked for a new driver

i got one from the lenovo site. it first ran an uninstall and reboot

then the install started but stop with an error.

so i thought now i have no sound at all anymore

but i have sound and YES i could enable the onboard music. now listening to roon on the laptop

so not really sure how this worked but i have sound!
