Describe the issue

I have 4 iOS remotes (2 iPads and 2 iPhones). I’ve never had an issue with any of them connecting to my Roon server running on my Mac. Today I tried to connect one of my new iPads and it is stuck in “searching for Roon server” mode. So I tried my other iPad and it connected fine as did my iPhones.

- iPhone 14 Pro iOS version 18.5 works fine.
- iPhone 16 Pro Max iOS version 18.5 works fine.
- iPad Pro (2nd generation) iPadOS version 17.7.8 works fine.
- iPad Pro (M4) iPadOS version 18.5 won’t connect.

I have tried following.
- rebooting Roon server on Mac Studio M1 Max, macOS version Sequoia 15.5
- rebooting non-responding iPad.
- Check that Local Network Access on non-responding iPad is toggled on.
- Toggled Local Network Access on non-responding iPad Off/On then rebooted
- deleting and re-installing Roon Remote on non-responding iPad.
- manually entering Roon Server IP address on non-responding iPad.
All to no avail

Remotes are wireless . Roon Server on Mac is ethernet & wireless. All devices on same network and subnet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated ?
Thanks

Hi @James_Rankin ,

Thanks for your message. I activated diagnostics for the affected iPad, can you please open the Roon app on it for at least a 2-3 minutes and let us know here after you’ve done so? It should deliver a log set for review to our servers.

I have run the Roon Remote app. as requested, with the same result.

Hi @James_Rankin ,

Thanks for letting us know. I checked out system and unfortunately it doesn’t look like came through properly. Can you please navigate to your iOS Settings → Apps → Roon and enable “Save logs to Files on next startup” option? Then open the Roon app, and it should save the logs to your iOS “Files” app. Once the logs are saved, please upload them manually to the link below and let us know:

Thank you.

The latest Roon Server & Roon Remote updates have fixed the “searching for Roon server” issue with my iPad pro (M4). Roon Remote now works as expected.
