Description of Issue
I have a few nucs and computers in my house. One nuc, the 8i7 was always used as my first player. For HQPlayer I liked to install Fedora 37 instead of Rock. After that I can reinstall every other linux distro and Roon Rock again and the connection is not visible anymore, it is looking for Roon Core, but cannot find. On the nuc I have internet, tested other cables and while Rock is installed it even shows a logical IP address on my screen. In a separate windows pc there even is a samba folder called Rock. Taking the whole nuc to a second house with another network cable, Roon is still “looking for Roon Core”, does not matter if I try with my Iphone or Ipad.
Strange thing: every other nuc or pc does work and finds Roon
One nuc: with normal internet connection, does not have Roon on multiple networks, with multiple fresh Roon Rock/Linux installations. I really like to have that nuc back to play. Even a bios reset to factory defaults did not help. I don’t know it anymore what can still go wrong and what else to try.
I haven’t still solved this. Still don’t understand why my nuc is excluded. Yesterday I tried Fedora 38 and installed roon. Again I have internet without Roon.
Think I have done everything, flashed the bios, replaced the ssd and memory card, put another ethernet connector in the USB port, tried rock, all different kinds of linux, tested the nuc on another network, replaced the network, and everthing fails finding the roon core, while on another nuc it works without problems.
In my opinion there are 2 possibilities left:
for some reason something in the motherboard broke
My mac address from that Nuc is blacklisted by Roon.
