Following an upgrade to 1.8, I now only have options for audio zones connected to the core.

Sorry, my core PC is downstairs. I’m running an M1 iMac and Roon 1.8. I am on my iPad running 1.8. I don’t even see my iPad as an audio option. All worked fine before the 1.8 upgrade.

Have you rebooted everything from the network outward?

I rebooted the iPad. I have not rebooted the core iMac or network…

I would suggest you do so.

I rebooted the core and that resolved the problem. Thanks! I’m not sure why that worked, but it did.
