Only Tidal results in search - no library results

This problem existed in a previous version of Roon and has now returned in 1.5. If I do a search for a title with an apostrophe or other non letter characters, I get only Tidal album results in the search results. My internal library albums don’t show up.
Search Example: “the soldier’s story” - only tidal results are returned
2nd search example: “the soldier” - all versions -Tidal and internal library - are returned.

Hello @danny2,

I have been attempting to reproduce this issue on our end but have been unable to do so as searching for non-letter characters is working fine from my end. Can I please ask you to provide us a copy of the file that you are having trouble finding in Roon? This will allow us to run some more tests and see what exactly is going wrong here. I will be sending you a private message shortly with instructions on how to upload the file(s), I ask you to please include the full name of the file after you have uploaded it to us.

Thanks,
Noris

Okay, I think I solved it. It had something o do with folder names with apostrophes. When I eliminated the folder name with apostrophes the searches started responding properly. Not sure why the one folder should throw the whole search off, though.

Hello @danny2,

This is indeed a strange situation. What exactly do you mean that you “eliminated the folder with apostrophes”, did you need to remove it from your watched folders for the search to work properly? Did you just type in the name of the file in the search bar without the apostrophes? It seems like you have resolved the problem and I’m glad you were able to but I just want to make sure this issue doesn’t affect other users and that we have the ability to reproduce your findings. Please let me know if you can provide more details on how you fixed it.

Thanks,
Noris

Sorry, I wasn’t clear. I eliminated multiple apostrophe’s from the folder name. I am actually still having the issue with one or two searches. But I don’t see a pattern I can report. If I figure something out I will get back to you.

@danny2,

Thanks for your follow up on this. If this is an issue that you can reproduce and provide steps for, even if it is just for one or two searches, please send us the files and steps you have taken and we can take a look at what’s going on. I have PM’d you instructions on how to upload files to our server, just please let me know after you have done so and I can take a look at what’s happening here.

Thanks,
Noris

I will see if it happens again. It seems to have happened a couple of times since my “fix” and then not been repeatable. So it does seem very odd. If I can come up with an example or two that repeat, I will upload the info to you.

@danny2,

Thanks, in the meantime you might also want to check out our unsupported file/folder names knowledge-base article, while apostrophes shouldn’t have a problem showing up, if the file or folder had any of the other special characters attached to it that is what could have prevented you from finding them.

Thanks,
Noris
