Does the issue happen with local library music, streaming service music, or both?
· *Both streaming and local* *library* music are affected.
Do you encounter any playback errors with the "System Output" Zone?
· The System Output has the same problem as my other Zone.
Do you have a complex network setup?
· Both the device and RoonServer are connecting to a *single router*
Please try rebooting your router.
· No, I'm still having trouble
Do you have an approximate timestamp of when the issue last occurred?
· Build 1510. Was not playing a track at the time.
What are the make and model of the affected audio device(s) and the connection type?
· OPPO UDP 205 , modem TP-LINK AC1600.
Describe the issue
My audio device OPPO 205 cannot be seen by ROON. My simple setup: CORE on Windows 10 pc router AC1600 by Ethernet to OPPO 205. Connection lost at last update.
Describe your network setup
Windows 10 pc via router Archer AC1600 ethernet to OPPO 205.
Does this mean that you’re not seeing the OPPO on the network at all? Even on the router configuration?
Can you please try a full reboot (power off, unplug, wait 30s, replug) of your network, OPPO, and Roon Server (in that order)? Does the OPPO then get an IP in the router?
No, OPPO does not appear on the network at all. Possibly unrelated but also cannot play anything on System Output. My database of Roon tracks can be seen however I cannot play them in either System Output (which shows up) or of course Oppo (which does not show up).
I’m beginning to think OPPO itself may be the problem. It is 8 years old.
Thanks for the follow-up! Sorry to hear your issues persist with the system output of your windows, causing you playback issues as well.
Specifically, when playing to the system output, we’re seeing a failure with Roon attempting to synchronize its internal playback clock with the System Output endpoint but failed.
Let’s see if refreshing your RAATServer database on your Windows running Roon Server may help:
You can generate a new RAATServer instance on your device by following these instructions, but please be aware that this will reset your Roon Settings → Audio Tab to factory settings and I would advise making a backup of any custom DSP settings you have:
Hi Again. As I can’t seem to refresh the RAATServer is there any purpose in trying something? What would happen if I could just delete that folder?
I have been planning to eventually purchase an Eversolo DMP to replace the Oppo in the next year or so. It is ROON ready and so I would definitely continue my subscription. Maybe I can bring that purchase forward. If I do purchase the Eversolo should I try to clean up the ROON files and folders on my PC? If I wipe the slate clean with ROON on my PC will it all be re-established when I connect ROON to the Eversolo. I do have my ROON database backed up.
Based on your screenshot, Roon is likely still running, and therefore you’re unable to edit the folder. Make sure you’ve closed all instances of Roon and Roon Server on the machine before attempting to rename the folder.
I also notice you have NordVPN running on your Windows, which could also be playing a role in your issue. VPNs fall outside the scope of support, so please completely disable the VPN and let me know if you’re able to get your OPPO detected.
@Mark_Maddison can you open Windows’ Task Manager and manually stop all Roon and RAAT applications and then re-attempt @benjamin’s recommended procedures?
Hi @Mark_Maddison,
Yes, you can select a different Roon Server, and doing so will automatically generate a new RAATServer instance. Let us know if you run into any trouble—we’re here to help!
Problem is solved. Don’t know what actually caused the Oppo to be lost but now I know how to get it (or any device) back again. Thank you so much for all your help!
