Options for running Roon on Wine / Fedora 43

Currently on Fedora 43 and Wine 11.0, Roon works as intended but the windows are washed-out.

The change happened when Wine got updated a while back.

The current Wine versions available to me on FE43 are:

10.15 - crashes roon with a “missing dll roon_dxgi”.

11.0 - runs fine but the windows are washed out.

Are there any FE43 users out there that found a way to get Roon to run with normal window rendition?

You should use Wine HQ 10.0 not the latest build since there is a regression. Please see the following thread for Ubuntu and derivatives for general hints, plus the post concerning Fedora / dnf.

On Fedora I have 2 versions of Wine at my disposal: 10.15 and 11.0.

10.15 breaks my Roon installation. 11.0 has the washed-out window. The screenshot is from 10.15.

I am not able to install other versions of Wine on Fedora. At least not within reach of my skills and resources.

Believe me I’ve tried, or read the thread I’ve started here - Revert to Wine versions not available on 43 - Fedora Discussion

Works like a charm.

I got rid of the washed out windows by using this install method on Fedora 43. Hallelujah!
