I discovered that some Albums on my rock internal music folder are in the wrong folders. For example, I have a 2 CD album were one of the CDs is in a folder with the artist name and the other one is in a folder with the name of the computer I had imported in from (I’m not even sure how that happened). Anyway, when I search for this CD, only one disc comes up. I can find the other one if I click on Versions. However, I would like to move that second disc from the misnamed folder into the Artist folder where the first disk is. How do I do this?
- You can just move them in your file manager, there is nothing special to do.
- For the special case of multi-disk sets, make sure to follow the instructions for the folders and take the opportunity to make sure the file tags are correct.
Thank you for your response. Here’s were I must be missing something obvious: How do I manage them with my file manager? The ROCK does not show up in my network browser window and when I manually search with “\IP addresss/storage” I get a password dialog box requiring a user and password. What would those be?
Did you not put them there in the same way? Or did you rip the CDs with the built-in ripper software of ROCK, which automatically puts them into folder with dates as names?
Let’s clarify this first and then we can make the file manager work.
Which operating system are you using on the PC that doesn’t show
This is Windows 10, and I can navigate the folder structure (under Storage) on the ROCK just like any other folder
This normally works but sometimes Windows doesn’t show it. Plus, the OP seems to experience the new SMB requirement for authentication in Windows 11 24H2.
I.e., there seem to be these two problems with accessing the storage:
and
The exact same set of problems occurred in the following thread (and many others), and I answered them one by one:
I am running Windows 11 Pro 24H2. I will give that thread a look. Thanks!
As far as I know, some Win 11 editions (Enterprise stuff or something?) have had this setting for a longer while, and with 24H2 they pushed it to the Home edition, so I’d expect Pro to have it, too.
@Suedkiez You Rock! Worked pefectly! Thank you so much.
