Original HomePod icon displays incorrectly as standard speaker in Roon (ref#5KDBX7)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

· The icon for the original HomePod is not correct. It shows a standard speaker instead of the HomePod. HomePod minis have the correct icon.

Hi @kitt,

Thank you for the report.

What is the specific name of the affected Airplay Zone in Roon Settings → Audio? We need to inspect logs to pinpoint the device announcement. We see the announcements from the Homepod Mini, but there’s other logged Airplay traffic that likely contains what we’re looking for.

Just to confirm, this is a Gen 1 Homepod (the 2018-2021 model)?

Thank you and we’ll watch for your response.

Thanks, there are two first generation (2018) HomePods (Wohnzimmer, Gäste).

I think this is related as well, because the HomePods are not recognised as such (fix is not working):

Hi @kitt

We checked the logs from your server. Your two HomePod minis (Bad and Schlafzimmer) are recognized and get the HomePod mini entry. Your two original HomePods (Wohnzimmer and Gäste) report themselves as AudioAccessory1,1, and the log shows no matching entry for that model, so they appear with the generic icon. This is separate from the OS 27 playback issue discussed in this thread.

Please let us know whether the original HomePods showed the correct icon at any point before the OS 27 update. We are checking what can be done on our side for that model.

No, they where shown like this from the beginning.

Looks like the identifier is correct for the first generation.
