Describe the issue

TIDAL Genres Outdated. Some of the Genres like "Soundtracks" or "Dance" or "Electronic" are no longer updating and they are also no longer available in TIDAL's native app. Instead "Dance & Electronic" is now only one genre. Please remap the genres to have them updating again and remove those that are no longer served by TIDAL like "Soundtracks". Thanks

Thank you for reaching Roon support.

  • Stop Roon Server from running in the Web UI
  • Find and open your RoonServer database
  • Navigate to RoonServer/Cache
  • Move the contents of the /Cache folder elsewhere, like your desktop
  • Try restarting Roon Server via the WebUI and verify if the issue still occurs

Additionally, please try creating a new profile and check how it goes there.

I see this as well (as everyone, I think, with a Tidal sub active, as I remember seeing this mentioned quite a few time in Software Discussion)

I’d like to add that the Tidal Genre sub pages are not the only ones out of sync, there’s at least other 2 main things:

  1. Moods: Tidal has way many more moods that the Roon Tidal page miss

  2. In Roon → Tidal What’s New page there are two sections that are very outdated: “Master Quality Authenticated Albums” where the albums are from 2023 :sweat_smile: and in Tidal that section is called “HiRes” now, not “Master Quality Authenticated”. And also “Master Quality Authenticated Playlists”

@vadim Thanks for suggestion but neither moving the cache nor creating a new profile changed anything. Any other ideas? Also it seems I’m not alone with this issue…

This issue is/was also being tracked here, but since playlist syncing was fixed, it seems the genre syncing has not been addressed. Tidal content not synchronizing in Roon [Fix in Latest Update 1544] - #365 by umami
