Need advice about plan to build a new Roon Core/DB on new Mac Mini after battery failed on my Macbook Air 2013 and new battery bricked the machine. My music folders/files are on Lacie HDD including massive Tidal downloads (?). When I build a new Core/DB my supposition is that it will identify and build it around all of my downloads (purchased music) but will it also identify and build a Core/DB that enables the new Roon library to see and play my Tidal downloads to Roon as well? Need to know before I start the process. Many thanks for guidance for this newbie question.

If I just go ahead and install a new Roon Core and generate a new DB on the new Mac Mini, which I understand will create a library of my downloads on my Lacie external HDD, can i later on add the prior Roon DB to the newly created Roon Core/DB so that I can recover/integrate Tidal objects, playlists, settings, etc. (resident on my old Roon Core DB located on the SSD in my defunct 2013 Macbook Air.
To do that I will have to crack the case, put the SSD in enclosure and copy off the prior Roon DB; can I migrate that old DB with the Tidal objects, playlists, settings, etc. to the new Roon Core/DB on the Mac Mini?
Or if I ever want to see/use the old DB Tidal objects, etc., do I have to not create a new Roon Core/DB but wait until i can have someone extract the old Core/DB and then copy that to the Mac Mini first?
If I can create a new Roon Core/DB and then blend in the old DB content later on, that would be optimal.
sorry for this point of clarification but would appreciate input from the Community.

Are you telling us that you never created a backup on the MacBook, or that the backups are stored on the Mac Book, but currently inaccessible?
probably both: backup on the Macbook SSD but was not current in any event and don’t recall when did the last backup.
i am confident i have all my purchased music files on the Lacie external. But want advice/knowledge whether if/when I can access the Macbook SSD - it was plug in wired in 2013, not soldered, so can be accessed down the road and mounted in enclosure where i can copy it off.
whether I can in the meantime since the laptop is defunct, and i have a new Mac Mini, install a new Core and generate a new DB based on Lacie HDD content and then back fill later on – add in the data from the prior DB on the Macbook SSD when able to have IT crack the case and put it in an enclosure (so I can retrieve Tidal objects, etc.).
Will Roon allow me to merge/integrate the two data sets – my new DB on the Mac Mini incorporate the old DB additional content such as Tidal objects, settings, playlists.
In other words, is Roon able to do this with new Core/DB – add in the old DB content?
What is on the drive that you need to recover?
If it is the Roon database, then without a backup you will lose your play history, favourites, tags, edits etc.
Whilst in maybe possible to copy the database files to a new machine, this isn’t trivial, and requires some technical skills.
However, you should do this sooner rather than later as you can’t merge databases.
If you install Roon on the new Mac, it will create a new database. Connecting to TIDAL will import your favourites. Similarly, add the Lacie as a storage location, and all your music will be loaded and analysed.
