Partial Library Access and Inability to Add Music on Nucleus One (ref#TY7QXO)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· Music won’t play or issues with my library

Music won’t play or issues with my library

· Streaming tracks greyed out or unavailable

Tell us what's going on

· Hi
During the last two months I had difficulties accessing to my Nucleus One from my Roon App and Roon ARC (with tailscale). Initially, after a lot of minutes I only had the information of 3084 albums in my Roon Library, when I already had 9715. Then, I solved some problems but I only have the information of my entire library (after a lot of minutes), but I can't open ANY album/artist/composition, in ROON app and in ROON ARC.Can you help me, without losing my entire library?Best Regards,Aníbal Mendes
PS: TODAY, after the new automatic upgrade IOS 26.3.1., I finally can access my library BUT ONLY to my partial library of 3084, and besides I can't add anything! I present some print screens below.

Hey @Anibal_Mendes,

Thanks for writing in and for sharing your report! Where does your library reside?

Sometimes the Roon Server process on the Nucleus gets stuck in a loop and rebooting it could help refresh the system.

  • Go to the Roon Settings > Setup and find the Configure button for your Nucleus (or type the Nucleus IP address into a web browser).
  • In the Nucleus Web Administration Interface, look for Roon Server Software.
  • Click restart.
  • Check your Roon App again. Often, this "kicks" the background process into finishing the library scan if its haulted.
If that doesn’t help, if Roon encountered a drive error or a file it couldn't read, it might have stopped the import.
  • In the Roon App, go to Settings > Library > Skipped Files.
  • If you see a long list here, it explains why the count is low. If it’s empty, the issue is definitely the database itself.

Hey, benjamin,

Thanks for your message!

Initially a had my library in my Windows PC, then I exported it to my new Roon Nucleus One and I use the Roon App in my IPhone (locally) and my Roon ARC with tailscale, when I’m out.

Before I contacted you I had already restarted the Roon started software (picture added).

Now, a can´t access The skipped Files because the app is always searching and never arrives there.

When I opened the app today I had only 3084 albums, Then I broke down the internet and the 9719 albums appeared, but remained inaccessible and going down.

I send you some ps with the sequences of the last situation.

Hi @Anibal_Mendes,

Thank you for clarifying. We’ll just a little bit more information for context here.

Where do you store your music? Do you have an internal SSD on your Nucleus One that you use as internal storage? Or have you configured a network share location?

Please share a screenshot of your Settings → Storage page within Roon.

Hi, Connor

Thank you for your message.

Yes, I have an internal SSD on my Nucleus One as an internal storage.

Now I can´t even open my Roon app.

I send the screenshot of my storage page (after waiting some minutes to open the app).

Best regards,

@Anibal_Mendes ,

Thanks for sharing the screenshot.

Thank you for sharing the screenshot.

We would like to review the logs from your Nucleus for diagnostics, but unfortunately, we cannot access them right now.

Could you please locate the Logs folder within your RoonServer directory by following these instructions, compress the folder, and upload it to our Logs Storage.

Thanks.

Looking forward to your reply.

Hi @Anibal_Mendes,

Thanks for the follow-up, and apologies for any confusion here, are you able to send over a set of Roon Server logs from your Nucleus as @alex_h has asked above?

Can you please use the directions found here and send over a set of Nucleus Roon Server logs to our File Uploader? Once logs have been uploaded, please let us know so that we can check the server for your files, thanks!

Olá, Benjamin!

Eu já tinha enviado o upload solicitado.

Não o viram ainda?

Será preciso enviá-lo de novo?

Cumprimentos,

Aníbal Mendes

Hello @Anibal_Mendes

Thank you for getting back to us! Unfortunately, we are currently unable to locate your files in our uploader system. It is possible there was a brief network interruption during the transfer, and the upload did not complete successfully.

Could you please try uploading the logs again using the same link Benjamin provided previously?

Once the upload is finished, please let us know here so we can confirm receipt immediately. Thank you so much for your patience and cooperation!

Olá, Vadim!

Peço desculpa por não vos ter dito que já tinha enviado o ficheiro.

Venho-vos comunicar que acabei agora de proceder ao seu envio (AnibalMendes_logs.zip).

Obrigado pela vossa atenção.

Aguardo resolução do problema.

Hi @Anibal_Mendes,

Unfortunately, it looks like you’ve sent over a set of Roon remote logs from your windows, rather than Roon Server logs from your Nucleus.

Since we’re not seeing your Nucleus tied to your account to auto-enable diagnostic mode, we’ll need to try this again.

  1. Using a Windows machine, open File Explorer and navigate to \\NUCLEUSONE\Data and use Guest as the username and password. You should then see the RoonServer folder.
  2. Using a Mac, open Finder and navigate to smb://NUCLEUSONE/Data and use Guest as the username and password. You should then see the RoonServer folder.
Then:

Find the folder called Logs

  1. This folder generally contains Roon_log.txt , Roon_log.01.txt, ect. or RoonServer_log.txt, RoonServer_log.01.txt, ect. (if making use of RoonServer)
  1. Zip up the entire Logs folder
    1. On macOS: Right Click -> choose Compress Logs
    2. On Windows, Right Click -> choose Send To -> Compressed Zipped Folder
    3. Please do not send individual log files

Let me know if this helps!

Olá, Benjamin!

Acabei de enviar o ficheiro solicitado.

Obrigado!

Aguardo.

Hey @Anibal_Mendes,

Thank you for sending over a set of Roon Server logs from your Nucleus!

The log shows this line repeatedly and consistently across every server restart:

[library] retaining 27,761 tracks for storage backend (Nucleus One Internal Storage)

But the database knows about 213,111 total tracks. This means Roon’s Internal Storage is only seeing about 27,761 tracks, roughly 3,154 albums worth while the remaining ~185,000+ tracks are simply not being found on the internal SSD. The full 9,715 album count only appears when offline because Roon is then pulling from its cached database, but those tracks aren’t actually accessible on disk.

There is also massive number of CorruptFile errors across the Roon Imports/DESKTOP-G565F55/ folder tree, files that were exported from the Windows PC (DESKTOP-G565F55) and are now unreadable. These are spread across many artists and albums (Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Ten Years After, Terry Oldfield, Dave Brubeck, etc.). These are separate from the missing albums but add to the count discrepancy.

All of this said, have you added any additional RAM to your Nucleus One? I’ll note that if the track numbers are true:

Info: [library] Queueing initial load of 213111 tracks + 14555 auxfiles

This library size far exceeds the standard RAM allotted for the Nucleus One. The ceiling of tracks that the Nucleus One should be able to handle is below 100k.

This said, I would either manually increase the RAM to at least 16GB, or consider cutting your library down to fall within the machine’s specs.

With that, some additional next steps for you:

Check what’s actually on the Internal Storage: Via the Nucleus Web Administration Interface, look at how much disk space is used on the Internal SSD. If it shows only ~30% full when it should be near-full for a 9,715-album collection, files are genuinely missing; they likely weren’t fully copied over from the Windows PC during the export.

The logs show all local music is stored under a path like:

Roon Imports/DESKTOP-G565F55/imported at 2025-06-24T...

This suggests the music was exported via Roon’s “Export Library” function from the Windows machine. On the Nucleus, go to Settings → Storage → Internal Storage → Edit and verify the watched folder path is correct. There may be a subfolder mismatch.

We’ll be monitoring for your reply and results, thank you! :folded_hands:
