Are they buffering between tracks? Are you streaming or local library? You’ve given basically no info in your post (I realise the feedback refernece will contain much more detail but you need to give Harry something to work with)
What DAC/DAC hat are you using and what interface? Ethernet or Wi-Fi?

Anyways, what I see is that there are errors coming from the USB bus. Not continuously, but on a steady basis. Pretty sure that causes the dropout.
I would suggest you try at a lower sample rate and/or check cables etc.

Thanks @spockfish. I just changed my DAC, from a TT2 to a Mojo2. Everything else is the same.
Is there anything else you can tell me about the errors coming from the USB bus, that I can approach Signalyst &/or Audiowise about please?
Check processing speed value: if it is lower than 1 then the hw has issues ( ie not enough power available) with the configured sample rate and or modulator/filters choices
DAC is Mojo2 (just replaced TT2). Ethernet.
Ok, then that might be the issue: your DAC causing regular errors on the USB bus.

That doesn’t say much, except that this is not an the application level (HQPlayer can’t do anything about this), but on the os/hardware level. I’m pretty sure this is a result of switching the DAC.
Have you tried at lower sample rate?

Yes, but you got an issue, right? In order to figure out what it is I suggest you do some testing.
@spockfish No dropouts so-far with the Mojo2 connected directly to the RPI4, for the last ~8 minutes or so. Same HQPlayer settings.

If it works with just the Chord, start adding back components one at a time until it starts to fail. Then you have your bad component.
This is an S/PDIF bridge for dual coax DACs, so expecting anything above 384kHz is optimistic since the Mojo only has a single coax input unlike the TT. IDK why you would go to these extremes when the USB input supports 768 kHz.
Can you hear any difference without the various filtering componenents, just the Chord DAC? If not, then you could sell them and do without.
Rather mysteriously there is so bad component once re-connected & the the rpi4 has been restarted. The dropouts are currently not happening.
@mjw I am getting above 384kHz & usb is not the input I want to use.
