Describe the issue

I'm running Roon ROCK on an Intel NUC.
I tried all the methods I read about on the forum—clearing the cache, logging out of my TIDAL account, restarting Roon Server, setting DNS to 1.1.1.1, etc.—but the problem persists.

It has been over 24 hours since the issue began.
Although not as frequently as yesterday, songs still occasionally stop abruptly and skip to the next track. It feels like about once or twice an hour. (All networks related to Roon are connected via wired connections; WiFi is not used.)

Hello @tora ,

Welcome to the forum and thanks for reaching out. Can you please confirm if this issue impacts other zones other than the RME zone, for example the NUC’s HDMI output? You have confirmed that local tracks play as expected and the issue is only affecting TIDAL? I assume you have also tried to restart the router?

Hi, @noris

the NUC’s HDMI output

I don’t understand what this means.
Does it mean connecting the NUC and Raspberry Pi 5 via HDMI?

local tracks play as expected and the issue is only affecting TIDAL

So far, it seems to only occur with TIDAL.

also tried to restart the router

Of course, I’ve tried restarting everything that can be restarted.

It’s been 72 hours since the problem started, and it still isn’t fully resolved.
Songs still occasionally stop abruptly and skip to the next track.

I’ve been using Roon for about two years, and this is the first time I’ve encountered this situation. I’m extremely confused.

Additional information.
When I check Roon.app during audio file skips or stops, it displays the following error:

“TIDAL media is loading slowly. This may indicate a networking or connectivity problem.”

Yesterday it was somewhat better, but today this error occurs extremely frequently, making it impossible to listen to music properly.

Hi @tora,

I see you mentioned you’ve switched your DNS server over to Cloudflare - which was having some outages recently.

If you switch your DNS to google, or another service, do you experience the same issues?

Thank you!

Hi, @benjamin

My issue started before the Cloudflare outage, but it hasn’t occurred yesterday or today.
I’ll keep a close eye on it for a while.
Thank you very much.

Hello @tora ,

Glad to hear that the system is performing as expected following the Cloudflare outage. We’ll go ahead and mark your thread as solved, but if you experience further issues, please uncheck the solution checkbox, or open a new thread to let us know. Thank you!
