I have a 20x2L and if something happened to it, I’d probably just ask Soundsmith to fix it.

and in that regard, you might investigate some of the sound smith moving iron carts, or just move up in the Dyna range.

or, for something completely different, one of the Zu/Denon 103Rs.

I have the same cart and wore it out, so I sent it to soundsmith for a retip. It was quite a savings. He does repairs as well.

I had same story with my Karat
I settled for the HANA ML low output, it is a phenomenal balanced cartridge for the music style you have mentioned
Lyra is also great but supply is a problem

Thanks everyone so far your replies, I’m demoing a number of cartridges this weekend, Hana ML, Apheta 3 and I’ll be open to anything else that Andy the turntable whizz at Doug Brady HiFi suggests

Take a look at the Gold Note MACHIAVELLI Red MK-II.
I use an older Gold Note Boboli High Output MC cart and love it.
