Pi-DAC+ does not connect to 5 GHz WiFi [Answered]

Yesterday I have received my Pi-DAC+ bundle: very nice device, great sound and easy Roon integration using IQ_Roon_pcm5xxx_RC7.zip firmware.

The only open issue is that I am not able to connect it to my 5 GHz WiFi (WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]).

wpa_supplicant.conf is:

country=IT
ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev
update_config=1

network={
ssid="NETWORK_NAME"
psk="NETWORK_PASSWORD"
proto=RSN
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
pairwise=CCMP
auth_alg=OPEN
}

With exactly the same configuration the 2.4 GHz works fine.

Have you any suggestions?

The Pi 3 only sports a 2,4GHz chipset for WiFi. Other than adding a USB adapter that supports 5GHz, there’s not much you can do.
