Just curious, how do you connect a pi Zero with Pi DAC zero to the network so Roon can see it? I am guessing it must be via the USB port as I don’t think the Pi zero has a network interface. HAs anyone tried this?

The Pi Zero has no network interface. The only way to connect it to your network is with an USB Wifi adapter or USB ethernet adapter.
(And you need another adapter to connect a regular usb cable to the micro-usb connector of the pi zero.)
