Platform Agnosticism

Greetings -

I have Roon Core running on a Mac Mini. Can I back up the library, drop the Mini as a Core and restore the library (and all its settings) to a new Core running on a PC?

Thanks

Yes, you can.

Backup using Roon’s database backup mechanism. Install the new core and then rather than signing in click on the link that says Restore Previous Backup (or something like that). Works great.

One word of caution is that you don’t want to start up Roon on the old Mac while the new core is running as that could lead to two cores on the network with the same database ID. Best to verify that everything is working on the new core then delete the ~/Library/Roon folder on the Mac.
