If you’re in Track View, and have a selection, you end up with two “Play now” buttons, and it’s not immediately clear what will be played when that button is pressed.
Changing one of them to “Play Selected” would mostly solve that.
Having two buttons onscreen with the same shape, color and legend, but which have different functions seems mildly insane. How did that conversation go? Did some wonderful programming manager save us from a rogue dev who wanted all of the buttons to be identical?
I agree that would be the best option, however the prefix “2 selected” does give a bit of a clue….
Roon maybe pick this up but it would probably be better placed in the feedback category…
Ya, I guess some people might miss the implication of " 2 selected Play now" . I’ve done so myself early on.
But once I noticed the difference in the two play now button functions ( and it didn’t take long ) it’s pretty obvious. I don’t think anyone has said Roon doesn’t have a learning curve.
I suspect you could have different shapes and colors for the two buttons and people would have the same confusion.
“Clues” aren’t good interface design unless they’re used when there isn’t another option, or in the case where you need to conceal something for a specific purpose.
