Playback issue after switching server from PC to MacBook (ref#VY4W2F)

What best describes your playback issue?

· Music doesn't start when I press "Play"

What type of Zone is affected by this problem?

· *All of my Zones* are affected.

· The issue affects *multiple/all* file formats.

Does the issue happen with local library music, streaming service music, or both?

· *Both streaming and local* *library* music are affected.

Do you encounter any playback errors with the "System Output" Zone?

· The System Output has the same problem as my other Zone.

Is your RoonServer machine running MacOS 15 Sequoia or above?

· I still can't see my endpoints as available Zones.

Do you have a complex network setup?

· I have a *mesh network* with devices connected to multiples points

Your local network might need some re-arranging to support Roon.

· None of the suggestions have helped me. I'd like to submit a support request.

Do you have an approximate timestamp of when the issue last occurred?

What are the make and model of the affected audio device(s) and the connection type?

· All devices. Server is on an older 2015 MBP

I switched my server from a PC to a macbook and now nothing plays on any zone from any device. Play button just does nothing.

Eero mesh network. Network is unchanged and was working fine previously.

Thanks for writing in and sorry to hear you’re having issues with playback on your Mac - can you confirm Roon has proper access through your firewall? A simple test for this would be to temporarily disable your Mac firewall and see if your issues still occur.

If so, lets see if refreshing your RAATServer database may help:

You can generate a new RAATServer instance on your device by following these instructions, but please be aware that this will reset your Roon Settings → Audio Tab to factory settings and I would advise making a backup of any custom DSP settings you have:

  • Create a Backup of your current Roon database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RAATServer”
  • Rename the “RAATServer” folder to “RAATServer_old”
  • Restart the Roon App to generate a new RAATServer folder
