· I have had a recurring issue with Roon, which I am sure you can help me with. 1. Increasingly, ROON will get stuck on a track in a Qobuz album that previously worked just fine. 2. The duration progress bar on the bottom bar (where one can skip, pause, reverse) skims from left to right and back again. 3. This will continue until you go back to ROON and hit skip track. 4. I then go to Qobuz, and that track plays just fine, just not in ROON. 5. Interestingly, the problem persists: If I ever want to listen to Pekka Kuusisto’s first track on his Willows album, I can’t do it on ROON. This is new behavior, but it has been going on for several weeks. • I only have two tracks listed in the ROON “skipped files” report; they are corrupted files in my local library but I suspect that this reports only on local files.
Environment 1. ROON server is on a SonicTransporter with a 3-foot ethernet connection to the cable modem. 2. It feeds an opticalRendu network player. 3. I have restarted ROON, SonicTransporter, and opticalRendu several times to no avail.
Thanks! It is not the world’s biggest problem, but it is annoying to be listening and have to get up and manually skip a track.
Thank you for confirming that your local files are playing smoothly—that is a very helpful data point.
It effectively confirms that the “bouncing” progress bar and skipped tracks are tied to a specific communication issue between Roon and Qobuz’s CDN (Content Delivery Network). Essentially, when Roon requests the track, the server doesn’t deliver the data fast enough or in the format Roon expects, causing the player to “give up” and skip to the next available track.
Current Status:
Tracking: We have officially added your case to our internal tracking for this Qobuz synchronization issue.
R&D: Our developers are working directly on how Roon handles these specific Qobuz streaming requests to prevent this “stuck” behavior.
Ticket Status: I am moving this thread to “Ticket In” status. This means we have all the info we need and the fix is in the works.
I’ll go ahead and close this thread for now, but if you notice this starting to happen with your local Jimmie Dale Gilmore albums or any other local content, please open a new ticket right away and let us know!
