Playback is increasingly interrupted during playback. Most tracks are played from internal SSD but the fault occurs irrespective of local playback or streaming. There are also Tidal & Qobuz accounts linked to this machine.
The symptom seems to point to an issue in the local network - possibly a faulty connection somewhere.
Can you describe your local network in more detail, e.g.:
Is the Nucleus connected directly to the router?
Do you have any network switches involved?
Personally, I would not use Cat8 cables in a home network - cat6 cables are more than adequate. Perhaps you could try swapping the Cat8 cables attached to the Nucleus and your Mac for Cat6 cables as a test…
Cat8 cables are fully shielded and intended for for 25 Gbps/40 Gbps connections in data centres. Cat6 is more than adequate and often less problematic due to its inability to generate ground loops between equipment
I’d bet it’s a faulty SSD in the nucleus not your network. It’s got all the symptoms of it and is far more common than it should be. Plug it in to a hdmi inputs of TV and check for any error messages in the text it puts up. Also check the Roon server status in Nucleis Web GUi when you get the cant find core message.
Hi @Carmen_Tirlea,
Thanks for your patience while we worked through the queue. I need a bit more information from you in order to help with your issue. First, can you provide a screenshot of your Nucleus Web GUI? This will allow us to determine if this is a hardware issue. Next please provide the local time when the dropouts have occurred. Lastly, can you tell me if you have any additional network hardware such as switches, and how your network is configured?
