Describe the issue
For a few days now, I haven't been able to play any music in Roon. After pressing Play, playback skips from one track to the next and always ends with the same error message. "Zu viele Störungen. Wiedergabe wird gestoppt" It must be something wrong in the roon audio settings, but I don't know how to fix it in Roon and Windows 11.
Describe your network setup
Notebook Win11+roon, 2× WD My Book Duo (44 TB), ADI-2DAC
All music formats are affected in Roon. Playing from the USB hard drives isn’t possible in Roon. Music playback isn’t a problem with foobar2000 and other players.
The error message is always the same: "Too many failures. Stopping playback.
Thanks for your message. Since you are using a Windows PC, I would verify that both Roon.exe, RoonServer.exe and RAATServer.exe have been added as exceptions to your Windows firewall.
You can use these instructions to add the exceptions and the executables themselves would be located in your Database Location/Application folder path.
I would also add these exceptions to any Antivirus or other Firewall blocking applications you may have and ensure that you connected to your network via a Private network, not a Public one, see this guide for more information.
I can’t find the error. Windows Firewall is disabled because McAfee is installed. I also have NordVPN. But even if both are disabled, music can no longer be played in Roon. I was able to play all formats with Roon for at least six months. After that, it was over. During this time, no changes were made to the laptop that I know of. Unfortunately, I’m not a computer expert. I would have expected Roon to be usable for normal users as well.
Regarding the instructions:
I found the RoonServe folder, but I don’t know what to change there.
“Allow an app through firewall” is not active for me, and I can’t change that.
