Describe the issue
Playback keeps stopping/jumping tracks. Qobuz slow to load.
Describe your network setup
SkyQ router plus extender. Netgear Switch. Nucleus hard-wired to router.
Can you please clarify for us whether this problem is persistent for Qobuz only or for your local files too ?
From what I could have seen in automatic diagnostics report coming from your machine your Roon Core and Audio endpoints (especially Naim Audio Mu-so and Bluesound PULSE FLEX 2i) are having significant delay in sync.
long rtt sync Bluesound PULSE FLEX 2i: realtime=64075200721 rtt=87000us
Also, I could have spotted that bandwidth often drops to 0 kb/s upon downloading content from Qobuz.
We would recommend you to :
Set DNS on your router to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 so it can improve traffic routing
wire your endpoints via Ethernet cable to your router too so the sync delay is lower.
Also, please let us know the exact time stamp (time + date) when the issue happens next so we could precisely look at the problem .
Thank you. Apparently, Sky don’t allow you to change the DNS. What I have done is disconnected the home plugs and gone back to wi-fi, and I have ordered an Amazon eero 6 mesh Wi-Fi router | 900 Mbps to boost the Wi-fi signal. I will let you know if the problem persists after setting up the router tomorrow.
We have a few guidelines for users with Eero mesh setups to help ensure that multicast traffic forwards properly between mesh nodes. Please keep these in mind when you install your Eero setup. It will help prevent device discovery issues down the road.
The second guide has a section related to IP address allocation by the Eero router. It’s worth flipping through, but we’ve condensed the practical steps you’ll need to take in the Eero mesh settings administration page into a list below:
Connect Roon Core to the main Eero router via Ethernet if possible.
Use wired connections for endpoints when possible (especially critical zones like audio servers).
Keep Wi-Fi endpoints on the same SSID and subnet. Avoid “Eero Guest” or separate VLANs.
Check IP allocation:
In Eero app → Network settings → DHCP & NAT → ensure the subnet covers all devices.
Multicast & Bonjour:
Eero generally passes multicast, but some custom firewall or advanced settings may block it. Ensure no multicast filtering is enabled.
Please let us know if you have any questions. We’ll watch for your response.
Since I installed the Eero, the network isn’t finding my Nucleus, though it is Ethernet-wired into the Eero. It must still be on the old network, and I have found no way of resetting it. I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting the power, but that hasn’t worked. I am temporarily using my PC as a server.
Without hooking up the keyboard and performing the steps to reset your network settings on the Nucleus, the other steps won’t really do much, unfortunately.
That’s normal - did you test out rebooting your router as well as your Nucleus again?
Is the Nucleus connected via ethernet directly to your primary router? If not, give that a try as well.
I have concluded that the unit is faulty, and I am negotiating a repair/partial refund with the retailer. In the meantime, I am using a laptop as a dedicated server which I will connect to my eero mesh when a connector arrives.
I have now connected a dedicated laptop via Ethernet to my eero 6 mesh Wi-Fi router in a final attempt to get Roon working stably. It’s not too bad, except that it tends to skip tracks. I observed this on Saturday 17th between 10 and 11am.
The time window you mentioned (between 10 and 11am) is unfortunately too broad for us to pinpoint anything specific in the diagnostics. If the issue happens again, please let us know the exact time (as close as possible) and the name of the track that was playing when the skip occurred. That will allow us to take a closer look.
