During the playback of a song, the music stops and I get the message “waiting for your Roon server”. I have to restart the song after the round ring completes the circle. Occasionally, I will get a second message saying “uh oh something’s not right” with a red box that says Qobuz login failed. When I click “retry” it starts back up. I have tried all the normal things like rebooting, powering down, installing the latest Roon software. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. My Roon server is a Sonic Transporter i5. It is connected to a ethernet switch connected to my router.
Describe your network setup
Netgear router Model C7000v2 connected to Trendnet switch via ethernet. Ethernet to Sonic Transporter i5 (Roon server). Ethernet cable from Trendnet switch to Media Converter (converts to optical). Fiber optic to the Sonore OpticalRENDU. USB from OpticalRENDU to DAC.
Since the music stops as well, this suggests that the issue is on the Roon Server side of things, or on the network-level.
I’ve activated diagnostics for your account and looking over the error logging, it looks like it’s most likey to be on the network side, as I am not seeing any other critical errors in the server.
Are you able to bypass the switch and connect directly to the router? Failing switches have sometimes presented the same symptoms as you describe.
Is the router from an ISP? We’ve often seen ISP routers cause issues due to low-quality hardware, it might be the same on your end as well.
Finally, we have seen users have a better experience in the past if they change their Router’s DNS servers from the ISP provided ones to Cloudflare DNS, Quad9 or Google DNS.
