I’m working a project comparing playlist/radio results across DSPs. Here’s an example for a jazz seed, Miles Davis’ So What. The services compared are Roon, Tidal, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Spotify, and Apple Music.
Methodology is to select the seed, then start “radio” or direct the app to play similar songs. 15 tracks seems sufficient. With Spotify, Tidal, and Qobuz, radio will produce an immediate track list. With Roon, Amazon, and Apple, one has to let the tracks play and the queue build.
for the initial post, I will list them as DSP A-F, and will then identify them in a subsequent post. I find the results to be broadly similar, but there are some distinctions. I’d welcome your thoughts, as well as suggestions for future seeds for comparison, not necessarily jazz.
