Please clean up track titles imported from Roon's tag sources to remove "([Ll]ive)" from track names

Content you’re reporting an issue with

Have you made any edits to this content in Roon?

No

Is the album identified in Roon?

Yes

Is this content from local files, TIDAL, or Qobuz?

Local files, but Roon is set to ignore file tags in favour of its own metadata. The file based metadata does not carry the superfluous text in the track name:

Description of the issue

This is not a report about this specific album, but rather all albums where Roon’s metadata includes a “(Live)” indicator in the track title. As can be seen Roon’s internals know the tracks are live tracks (hence the Live indicator in red next to the track ame. The (Live) in the track name is incorrect and superfluous and should be removed when ingesting metadata from Roon’s tag sources, whether musicbrainz, Tivo, Tidal or Qobuz.

@evand this may seem plausible from an album perspective, but in an artist - track overview, the track note “Live” would be identifying. It is also easier to find when filtering only by track name.

That’s a very poor but currently necessary workaround to a missing filter in Track view. The Live indicator should be a filter criterion. Using a single field to hold multiple data points is poor database design - and I know not the case here, it’s just how the data is pulling through from sources.

You can’t filter for live tracks, but you can use focus …

thanks, all the more reason to remove the superfluous text from track titles then.

Hey @evand,

Thank you for getting in touch with your track treatment observations. I’m pleased to report that work is currently underway to add richness to track details and address redundant displays, such as seeing both the live badge and live wording in the track.
