You are confusing yourself by believing that Roon is somehow implicated in this ‘problem’.
The ssd is connected to your Mac and the ripping software is on your Mac. Either rip directly into the LX folder or move the files there after you rip them, as you would any file, by using Finder.

I don’t rip files because I have no CD’s to rip. However, if I did, I would not rip them directly to my Roon watched folder. I would rip them to a different device/drive/folder. Then, I would copy those rips to my Roon watched folder. I would want a copy of my ripped files totally separate from Roon.
