I listen 95% to complete albums, 5% to playlists (Qobuz, Roon, Daily mixes, ….)
So, for this poll, am I a playlist user?
Sure - why not!
I really wish I could grade myself 20 years younger, but I fear I only belong in 1 category (the eldest) .
So why 2 options.
And why did you stop at 50?
Most of Roon users will be older than 40, so I would offer bigger differentation in the ‘older’ categories
If everyone who very rarely uses a playlist is counted as a „playlist user“, and given the suspected age of Roon users, the result of the poll will be that old people use playlists - which might not accurately reflect the real distribution
Meh! Old guys are old guys. I think by 50, listening patterns are well established. And two options was a set up error.
I use playlists, but maybe not in the way they were intended. If I want to listen to a new album that’s on Qobuz, I’ll add it to a playlist rather than my library. Each month, I have a fresh playlist. If I like an album after two or three listens, I add it to my library, i.e., I buy the CD or digital download.
Likewise, when I travel, I add entire albums to a playlist for the journey, and then delete it afterwards.
I don’t use playlists that are essentially oversized compilations, although I may occasionally play a Daily Mix.
Oh, and I only started using playlists like this about six months ago.
