Description Of Issue

Get “poor signal path quality” notice next to artist.
What can I do to improve?

What is your source?
How about a screen print of what your signal path looks like?

For example -

MP3 is considered low quality, for good reasons.

How do you know I’m getting mp3?
Is it my Spectrum basic service need upgrading?

Use a lossless codec FLAC, ALAC not MP3.

How? I need to know!

Let’s start from the beginning.
What music files are you using?

I am listening to internet radio now, but seldom do.
I want the best available streaming audio.
I have no library, except for a closet full of CDs.
I am wanting to do Tidal only

We know you are streaming MP3 because the screenshot says so

Well internet radio is often MP3 and it tells you what’s its streaming in on the radio station description.
Tidal will stream in flac.

even Tidal @ 44.1 24Khz says low quality.
What need I do to get the good stuff?

Post a screenshot of such a tidal file as you did with the radio one.
And it’s not drugs :flushed:

24 Bits, excuse me

Nope that’s an aac file, that’s lossy too. Find a flac album
Edit thanks to @BlackJack

how does one go about that?

3 posts were split to a new topic: Setup Roon and DAC

What sort of Tidal subscription do you have? I just checked and there is definitely a FLAC version of that Junkies’ album.

You need a Tidal HiFi subscription to access their lossless content.
