Pops and Clicks on playback following latest software update

Hi, I am experiencing pops and clicks when streaming music via my HIFI Rose RS250 following the recent update. None of the other services played on the streamer are affected so I don’t believe it is my network or the Rose RS250.
I have restarted my core which is on a Windows PC, have restarted my router and unplugged and restarted my streamer but problem still persists.
Is anyone else experiencing this and does anyone have a solution.
My core machine is a Windows PC with Windows 11 Home software the processor is Intel(R) Core™ i5-9400F CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz and the PC has 32GB of RAM.
The Roon core is Roon version 2.0 (build1169) production (64bit) and I am using my iPhone 14 pro max as the remote the version is 2.0.01167 updated yesterday
My library has 201,171 Tracks and 17,227 Albums contained either on my PC Hard Drive or linked to my Tidal Subscription.
I have a hard-wired network running from by BT Home Hub and both my PC and my HIFI Rose RS250 are connected to the network using network cables. My streamer is connected to my amplifier via RCA cables to a standard analogue input.
Thanks

I’m not having the issues you mentioned and haven’t read any reports on it in the forum.

If you are still experiencing these issues Your post should include:

Details on your Core machine (OS, Hardware specs, Roon build)

Details on your Remote(s) (OS, Hardware specs, Roon build)

Networking details (especially what hardware you’re using, how
everything is connected, and anything notable about how it’s all
configured)

Audio devices in use

Library details (where your music is stored, whether you’re using a
streaming service, how many tracks are in your library)

Including these details in your first post helps support resolve your issues faster.

Thanks for the advice

As stated in my first post the issue only happened since the update and if I stream Tidal direct the sound is perfect, the same track streamed through Roon exhibits click and pops

Please consider providing a screenshot of your signal path while experiencing the issue you described also.

Is this what you mean?

Yes, thank you very much. As can be seen, Roon isn’t doing anything with the stream other than sending it to the Rose unaltered.

So what changes to the working setup (using the Rose directly)?

  • More network traffic
  • Different player/playback path implementation in the Rose (firmware)

So check your network (bandwidth) and probably contact Rose HiFi support about the issue too.

I didn’t understand why my Rose Streamer was not decoding because it was set as both renderer and decoder so I changed the settings and the only one that didn’t exhibit the pops and clicks was renderer only a setting I’ve never used.
From your response I suspected the issue was with my Streamer and not Roon so I did a factory reset on the Rose and that has resolved my problem.
Comparing the signal paths it is now decoding properly can only assume pops and clicks were due to decoding issue

Good to know you’re up and running. And welcome to the community.

Hi David,

If you look at your previous screenshot you will see this:

Capture

The line Rose RS250 is showing the Rose receiving the stream via RAAT. Everything after that is what the ROSE is doing, not Roon. So, if you look you will notice that you had set a DSP volume on the ROSE. I’m pretty sure that is what was causing your pop and click issue. Resetting the ROSE would have undone the DSP Volume changes.

Thanks for the assistance

Thanks for the information. Not really sure how I had set the DSP volume on my Rose but I’ll no what to look for if it happens again.
