I have a Roon Nucleus One and am trying to use Roon ARC. No luck in getting connected. Here is the message I get. Port forwarding is enables on my Asus RT-AX86U router with Merlin firmware. Not an expert on setting up routers but I have attached the WAN configuration page which shows UPNP enabled. Any ideas?
The Roon diagnostic text suggests that the router does not support UPnP despite it being enabled
I am not familiar with the version of Merlin firmware that you are using (I stopped using my Asus AX88U two years or so ago and the replacement BE88U nearly a year ago) so I don’t know exactly what the issue is. However, I would start by disabling the secure UPnP IGD mode and seeing if that helps. If it does not fix the issue feel free to reenable it.
@Gary_Cardinale do you know if your ISP uses carrier grade NAT? If it does, that will prevent port forwarding to 55000 which ARC expects according to the screenshot above.
Visit https://ifconfig.io and see the external IP address assigned by your ISP. If it’s in the 100.x.y.z range, visit What are these 100.x.y.z addresses? · Tailscale Docs to learn more.
Edit: disregard my comments about CGNAT. I looked at your screenshot again and see that the external IP address begins with 76 (76.aaa.bbb.ccc).

If that doesn’t improve things, consider manually define the ports to forward on the Asus router. See https://www.asus.com/us/support/faq/1037906/ for directions that should be similar to yours.
