Possible to show files by their path / location in the core?

While I commend Roon’s metadata management, everyone’s preference is different in arranging their files into groups. Some might like to group by composers, or performing artists, or even file formats etc…

Also in my case, because I have songs in Chinese, English and European languages, some of those Chinese songs with metadata in Roman alphabets are placed in front of others, with some classics and European tracks in between them.

It would be great if Roon software has that one extra option in the future.

You can do this already in track view. You have to set it to show path. For albums it’s just the storage location you can focus for given Roons lack of interest in folders etc and showing folder views I would not expect this to change. So if you had the different languages as sub folders off the main storage then you could have each one as a separate storage location and focus via each of them in album view. I do this for lossy and lossless music. So I have \music\lossy and \music\lossless as two sources they both live in the same \music folder on the drive and I can just focus on one or both.

Thanks and I knew that already, but the problem is that ‘sort by path’ won’t show in tablet / mobile.

Also even if you seperate storage locations, same thing occurs when you are in album view.

Silly me. Sorting by path does actually show on my iPad.

But again, it would be great if Roon could allow that in album section in future updates. It’s probably not just me who would like to see such thing.

Not going to happen. Roon is dead set against any interface that entails, references, or even suggests a display involving folder structures.

This has been discussed ad nauseam.
