Post-Nucleus Install: ELAC Discovery Endpoint Recognized but No Sound (ref#86EO8Y)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

Tell us what's going on

· After Roon Nucleus one install, with Roon essentials on Elac Discovery, the elac is enabled as an endpoint, is recognized, has a graphic display of music playing, but no sound from any output of elac. I can no longer access the Elac via the Roon essentials app since the Nucleus was installed. Would a factory reset of Elac clear this? Would it function as an endpoint after the reset even though I can not access it via the essentials app?

Hello @john_dahl,

I hope you’re doing well.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Since you have now switched over to a Nucleus, we would recommend performing a factory reset on your DS-S101-G. This should clear the previous Roon Essentials configuration and allow the device to start fresh within your current setup.

Roon and Roon Essentials are different platforms, and we generally recommend using only one of them at a time. Because of that, resetting the ELAC is a good next step after moving to a Nucleus-based Roon setup.

That said, based on the logs from your Nucleus, we are not seeing any obvious errors related to discovery or connectivity with the ELAC. The device is visible to Roon, so this does not appear to be a basic connection issue. For that reason, a reset would be a good troubleshooting step to help clear any leftover configuration from the previous Essentials setup.

Please let us know how the device behaves after the reset.

Thank you.
