Describe the issue

App is glitchy and dropping songs. Now after the update, it does not detect any audio devices other than the server. This problem is also not new.

Describe your network setup

Tiny flat, Asus router, roon server running on MacBook pro, other macbook pro as the client.

Hi @Michal_Domarus,

macOS Sequoia (version 15), has tighter (and more obfuscated) network security settings than preceding MacOS versions.

Can you please navigate to macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network, and make sure Roon is allowed.

If it is already enabled, toggle it off and on again. Then reboot your Mac, and see if the same issue persists.

This is the first thing I checked and did. It didn’t help.

Hey @Michal_Domarus,

Thanks for writing in and sharing your report. Welcome to the community as well! We’re excited to have you here - I do apologize that its an issue thats prompted your first post, though.

In the past, we’ve seen some hiccups between Roon updates and Mac firewalls - can you double check Roon and Roon Server are set as proper exceptions? Or, if you temporarily disable your Mac firewall, do you have any issues? Here’s more info:

Can you provide more details around the audio devices you’re having issues with? Are they Roon Ready?

From a recent Roon Server diagnostic report, we do see the following error which stopped playback:

Warn: [zoneplayer/raat] Error during streaming: System.Exception: serverside buffer overrun

We’re seeing the track buffer at 100% before this happens, so the issue doesn’t seem to be between your Mac and upstreaming services like Tidal, but rather, network bandwidth between your Mac running Roon Server and your endpoints within your local setup.

How are they connected? Can you temporarily set up a simple, hard-wired Ethernet connection between them and test?

We’ll be on standby for your reply and results - thank you, Michal! :raised_hands:
